Subheadings

The next thing you should focus on is your sub-headings.  After having read the main headline most visitors to your site will scan your sub-headings and will read further whatever interests them beneath that sub-heading.

Make sure your sub-headings also include benefits that are not already included in your main headline.  Sometimes you can overdo it with your main headline by including too many benefits, subheadings are a great place to include these extra benefits and get the site visitor to read further.

Your USP

Next, is your offer and USP (Unique Selling Proposition).  Tell your readers what you are offering in terms of benefits and how your product or service will benefit them.  Try to include at least one USP.  A USP is an offer or benefit to your customers, something unique that your competitors don't have, e.g., on our site we offer a template in a second color absolutely FREE if you order before such and such date.  Tell them the value of your USP.

USP's can include the following: a different color, size, lower price, free gift, higher quality, better customer service or more features than that of your competitors.

It's important to remember not to dwell on features too much, but rather on the benefits in your copy.

Your Call To Action

Lastly, you must bring about a call to action.  You don't want your reader to 'think about it'.  Create an offer that they can't refuse, if they order now.  Not today, not tomorrow, but now!

A free bonus coupled with a limited time offer or availability works very effectively.  But, you must be able to deliver.

If you repeat the same 'offer ends tonight' blurb, and your visitor comes back the following night only to see the same 'blurb' being repeated he/she will catch onto you and you will lose credibility. Web users are much more savvy than what they used to be.  Respect their intelligence.

Show your readers how to order.  Tell them to 'click here to choose your service now'. 'click here to get started right away'.  If you simplify the order procedure for your customers they will much more likely to order from you.
